Fustini’s recently launched Fustini’s Cares, an initiative that partners with local nonprofits in Holland, Ann Arbor, Petoskey, and Traverse City to support their work in providing access to healthy food options. This month, Fustini’s has chosen to support our Food Club! For the entire month of February, 1% of all purchases will be donated to our programs, and Fustini’s will also be hosting a food drive at their Holland location.

What influence does community have in supporting others?
As a community-powered agency, partnerships are critical to sustaining and expanding our service. Over 2,000 people, corporations, and churches make our work possible–through volunteer activities, donated food and other items, and/or financial support. These are people of different backgrounds and beliefs who come together to welcome and serve their neighbors.
We’re proud to be a special place where such a broad coalition comes together to cultivate a stronger community for all.
It takes a community, working together, to ensure that all of our neighbors have access to healthy food, support, and hope they need to move forward.
What difference does dignity bring to providing others with healthy & flavorful food?
We believe that everyone in our community deserves access to fresh, healthy food that works best for their families. We choose to be a radically welcoming place for everyone and to put our guests’ needs and perspectives at the center of our decision-making.
At Food Club, we work to create an environment that’s bright and welcoming and to turn an experience that often causes stress and shame into an experience of uplift and hope. Our team celebrates when we see children shopping alongside their parents, when guests are excited to share about Food Club with their friends, and when members tell us that they feel like they belong.
What does this exciting partnership with Fustini's mean for Community Action House?
Fustini’s partnership will help us meet the increasing need in our community. Since opening in October 2021, the Food Club has already served over 2,800 families.
With inflationary pressures pushing so many more family budgets past the breaking point, we’ve recently seen well over 150 families calling on us for support, every day, six days a week. On an average day, eight of these families are brand new guests seeking support for the first time ever, pushing our service numbers higher and higher as community needs expand.
Continued partnerships like with Fustini’s is essential for helping ensure that no one in our community goes without the food and support they deserve.
We are so grateful for this partnership with Fustini’s and are excited to see the positive impact this will make for our community.
