Community Action House Provides Formula for Local Parents During National Shortage.
Community Action House has long worked to provide welcoming essential services for many of our neighbors in a time of need. That includes being a key provider of formula for many families. With recent shortages challenging so many families, Action House recently extended access to formula to anyone in the community who is unable to otherwise source the formula their children need.
“At Action House, it’s our mission to help our neighbors in their time of need. We’re grateful for the partners who help supply us with essential resources to share with our neighbors - including formula. Right now, we know there is a critical challenge with formula shortages. We’re proud to do what we can to ensure all our neighbors can access what they need, so we can all get through this temporary challenge together,” shared Executive Director, Scott Rumpsa.
Community Action House guests who need assistance with formula are able to access it regularly at the Food Club & Opportunity Hub, through a longstanding relationship with Mead Johnson Nutrition and other local partners. In light of the recent supply challenges, the Community Action House team has reminded their Food Club guests that formula is available for parents in need, and then alerted other community partners so that other agencies could offer formula to their patrons. Now, other parents in the community who are struggling to find formula are able to visit Community Action House for help.
Those who are unable to access formula elsewhere can visit the front desk at the Food Club & Opportunity Hub, located at 739 Paw Paw Drive, during regular Food Club hours. During this temporary expansion of service, formula is available while supplies last, and will be limited to a two week supply per visitor.
